The Vanishing Town of Canaan Creek
Deep in the Appalachian mountains, there existed a town that was never supposed to exist.
The Discovery
When federal surveyors arrived in the spring of 1924, they found every building intact. Fires still smoldered in hearths. Meals sat half-eaten on tables. But not a single soul remained.
They left everything behind. Everything except themselves.
To this day, no credible explanation has emerged. The 400 residents of Canaan Creek simply — vanished.
